hey all, well i finally worked out a date for the "strip it " job on the mav. i'm having it april 26 (saturday) start at whatever time everyone arrives. i am thinking an early start. i will probably be at it by 8:00 a.m. . my plan is to have as much off of the car as possible during the morning hours and up until around 2:00 p.m. then the fun starts. if i can get some people to bring their mavs and comets, then around 3:00 p.m. we will drive down to kissimmee for the old town saturday night cruise. it is the biggest weekly cruise going in the usa (so they advertise) we regularly have around 300 cars on a nice saturday night. i might be able to score us some reserved parking if i know how many are comeing. the cruise is open for years up to 75 but as we all know a 74 looks the same as a 77 and they don't check registrations. just fib a little. the cruise is free and they start arriving around 1:00 and then at 8:30 we all line up and parade the cars thru the streets at old town. after that you can leave or pull back in and hangout, listen to the band, whatever. there are lots of shopping places and restaurants down there to eat dinner. lunch will be here ( pizza and drinks) i am asking for some help in accomplishing this. please let me know if you are interested. please bring some hand tools as i don't have enough to supply everybody. a change of clothes might be good too. jason miller my address is 3254 fawnwood dr. ocoee, fl 34761. for those that do show up you will get the first look at my next project (but only if you keep it quiet) hottie 2 and fred mccutcheon are already in. let me know a head count asap so i can contact the staff at old town and reserve some spots.
Hmmm, I wonder if my wife & kids are up for a trip back to Florida??, we were there on the day everything happened to your car.
Wish you were closer. I'd definitely be happy to help out. 920 miles round trip is just a bit far for one day though.
It may be fast, but it doesn't run 613 miles an hour! Some would probably tell you my mouth does, though!
jason, will this happen at your house? will you need jacks, cherry picker, etc. etc. what all needs to be removed? do you have a pic. of this car that is to be taken apart? if i come i will not be able to bring any of the afore mentioned tools. ...Frank and Effie...
Go ahead and count me in Jason. I'll be driving my '72 down. I will have the car looking clean and respectable, but by no means is it a "show" car. I'll bring basic hand tools with me.
Hey Jason, Go ahead and put My Dad and I down to come. Hopefully we will be able to, but you never know something might come up. If we can make it I'm not sure if we will have 1 Maverick or 2. According to Map Quest we are 62 miles one-way from you. Thanks Morgan
map quest keeps locking my 'puter up...would someone check the miles for me... Macon, Ga. 31217 ...thank you...:Handshake
Here you go. It's 362 Miles from Macon GA, to Jason's address. Says it would take 5 hours and 25 minutes.
WOW Jason, hope you got enough for us to do. Looks like there may be enough to put it back together as well! lol Jacks, jack stands, cherry picker are taken care of. I'll put my track box of tools back together as well. Hmmmm maybe I ought to bring the one I've been planning on stripping with me. You got a junk yard/ salvage hauler connection? While we're talkin bout it. I need the diskbrakes, Jason has dibs on a couple parts, anything else on the car is up for grabs. If you need something let me know.
Hey 71 gold, I'll be passin by you friday afternoon sometime and again saturday headed back south. Going to look at a candidate for Hottie's replacement. Well not Hotties replacement, but another Mav.
