My maverick has just started making a clunking nise on the drivers side wheel. The car seems to pull to the drivers side also. Could something be causing the noise and the pulling also. It doesnt always pull. Ive checked my brakes and all seems fine there. Looking under the car I dont notice anything. What are the symptoms I should be looking for. Coil spring mounts, ball joints etc. thanks guys Steve
Check your ball joints and also your strut rod bushings. My strut rod bushings failed and started making a big clunking when I would go from forward to reverse, and vise versa. -Corbin
When I tore mine apart, it had squeaked and banged for years. The upper control arm bushings on the back were not where they could be greased. It had gotten so dry that it rubbed a hole in the contol arm bolt. That holds the bushings in against the control arm. Seth
Usually those uppers control arm bushings squeek long before they clunk. My money is on the strut rod bushings.....
The clunking noise happens when I hit bumps, even small ones. Does someone sell a complete front end kit. My car has low mileage but what the hell. I wouldnt mind replacing everything.
