My floors were so rusty I needed to put in these supports for the rollcage door bars. They really help strenthen every thing up.

For the main hoop I cut out the sheet metal above the front leaf spring support(whatever it's called) and plug welded the base plate to it as well as all the way arround. And the sheet metal for the floor was free, it was an old AC air handeler box. I will prime and paint everything before welding in the floors, this won't be a show car so with carpet and padding on top who will know? This is my hot rod, "rice grinder" street machine project.
    Tell me what you think?

Just a thought, but if you tie those front bars to the subframe connectors, it will stiffen it up more.

The supports are 3/16 thick and welded to the front subframe where they cross.

If you have any room to add any gussets, now would be the right time to do it. A & A Manufacturing has some really neat die stamped gussets with 3 lightning holes in them. This will add strength.
