I have a 65 Comet Caliente. I just rebuilt the front and rear suspension, and gutted the car, getting it ready for the paint shop, There is no motor, or trans in the car,so there is very little weight to load or flex the front suspension, When i put the front tires on to roll the car, i find that the tires are rubbing on the upper control arms. These are the same tires that came off the car. The new springs (these springs were a B**CH to get in using a pneumatic spring compressor!) won't let me bounce the car to see if things clear. Is this a normal thing with no weight in the front?

Not in my experience. Even with the engine an transmission out of my car I can bounce the springs. Can't compress them much bu a little. (I weigh 200 lbs.) Then again your car out weighs mine and would have heavier springs.
