I looked at my service log and noticed that it was time to change the mav's fuel filter. I sent the boyfriend to get one and he came home with one of the stock ones that originally screwed into the carb. However since I have a new edelbrock carb I need the one that has and inlet and outlet on either end and is sort of short and round. I have heard that one must get the proper filter because if it is too big or small damage could take place. Is this true or just crap? I bought a fram one that appears to be the right one, at least it looks like the one the carb guy installed for me last time. If anyone knows of a specific brand and or part number let me know. Thanks. Ps. 302, Edelbrock 650cfm, that's it.
what you have will work. the only filters i would stay away from for sure are those glass ones where you can see the filter and see the gas. they are very dangerous! then again if your have an edelbrock carb, edelbrock also makes a inline fuel line with a filter.. they are kinda nice.
The see thru filters are good to see how dirty your gas tank is. Some people believe in a filter after as well as before the fuel pump. You can put an inline small filter in the middle of the fuel line under the drivers' door. There should be a rubber section of line there. Seth
yeah i agree they are really cool... but if you change your filter all the time you should have to worry about how dirty your tank is. i have had one crack on me.. and i caught it.. good thing.. also they are not good for high pressure pumps. i have known two people that have had there cars catch on fire becuase of those. if i thought if it it just one i would think something is wrong with them however this isn't the case. just becareful if you do deside to run one. i'd hate to see anyones pride and joy go up in flames like a air cooled bug
