just think as i gone by a gas station 3.77$ for a gal has any one looked in to Full Electric Car? or what will it take to do one or what would you guys do to make one? i know you guys see that i dont speel stuff right its bc im dyslexi google is good for me
just wanting to see you naver know one day we may not be able to buy gas one day but i do love the gas v8 roar
The cost to build one would never be recovered in gasoline savings. If you do the math its even hard to recover your money in fuel savings if you bought a new diesel. The cost of the diesel option and high maintenance costs take an awful lot of miles to recover what you spent for the diesel. I would like a nice cheap turbo diesel car but the NA auto makers just dont offer a low end vehicle with a diesel option. I dont see it getting better either. With the amount of emissions on diesels now that option is getting very expensive. Electric and hybrids are also expensive. Look at the price jump on a hybrid vehicle. Have to drive a lot to get your money back.
Untill batteries become more efficient (Mass amounts of storage capacity) And the processes used to manufacture them (Massive amount of pollutants involved)...Electric cars and hybrids are a farce and a pipe dream...Lies on wheels. That said...An electric Maverick would be neat...Just not practical.
We have something like 178 years of oil reserves in Canada, I don't think I'll ever see the day I can't buy gas.
I am dyslexic too. And first off, who the he#$ decided to give it a name that had a "yslex" in it!?! My dyslexia really shows when I have to back up a vehicle. Things moving in mirrors really freak me out. Switch to Chrome as your browser. It will automatically spell check your post. It puts a little red underline if the word is misspelled. Then you can right click and choose the correct word. Once Chrome is installed... 1)Click the wrench icon on the browser toolbar. 2)Select Options (Preferences on Mac and Linux). 3)Click the Under the Hood tab. 4)In the "Web Content" section, click Languages and spell-checker settings. 5)In the Languages and Input dialog that appears, use the "Enable spell checking" checkbox to turn the spell-checker on or off. Like they say, "Dyslexics of the world, Untie"
Like they say, "Dyslexics of the world, Untie" Now thats damn funny!!!!! My kind of humor. I only have issue when I type things. I can read and write them no problems. Typing...forget it. I have certain words I mess up every time. teh is one of them. every time I type teh its comes out as teh. Luckily I have those little red lines on my Mac Safari so I go back on every post and fix teh word teh. I mean THE. Oh byo.
IMHO, the only way electric cars make sense is if the electricity is not generated with fossile fuels. Then they do reduce the carbon emissions. A few are selling in the US but only because of the large government (read tax payer) subsidies and the politically correctness factor. Remove the tax credits and assess a fair road tax and watch what happens to sales. I've read that 50% of electrical energy is lost in the transmission lines. Factor in the cost of replacement batteries and they don't seem practical.
We have an electric car that runs at the drag strip and is street legal as well, it is pretty amazing and is the worlds quickest electric car running in the 11.50s. I at one time investigated making an electric car since I am an electrician I thought it would be cool, after lots of research I figured it would cost about $12,000 to do it the way I would want it and lots of hours of work and searching for parts. Here is a link to The White Zombie an electric Datsun
i want to drive this one and my spell check is christina my fiance she gets mad and tells me to spell it for myslfe i keep telling here i try
I tell people don't worry about the middle east. They say America's reserves can only do like 50 some days...blah blah blah. North America in general has more oil then most think. We'll have gas for quite some time. As far as electric cars go...I haven't had a lithium battery in my tools/phones last more than a few years. My car batteries don't have long lives neither. So I don't have faith in an automobile that rely's on batteries for driving me around. Now 5-10 years down the road...batteries/electrical storage may improve. My question is...why aren't we seeing steam power coming back , I'm sure the engines heat as result of friction/firing could in turn regenerate the energy needed to create the steam. A self sustained system of sorts. It would require battery power of course to get the engine running. ... idk my way of dreaming
This speaks volumes..... http://www.dailyfinance.com/2012/03/06/gms-not-unplugging-the-chevy-volt-but-its-low-on-juice/
Yup sounds about right next thing you know everyone will be buying our gas more instead of gas and oil from the middle east.
