while driving usually in 4th or 5th if I go full throttle the motor instantly increases then drops back down. could this be a tuning issue or drivetrain problem? it's like the motor free spins then the drivetrain engages.
Sounds like the clutch is wearing out and slipping. If so, it is going to get worse until the clutch is pretty much useless. Start saving up for a clutch replacement.
I figured it was the clutch or the transmission itself I have 1300 save towards new tko so if I have to it will be parked for a little while thanks. yeah it will go 5500 free spin then lock at 3000
You said "4th or 5th" so it is a manual transmission, right? A new clutch, throwout bearing, etc is not too expensive, and not too difficult of a job. Dropping the trans is the hardest part.
make sure your clutch pedal is adjusted correctly. if its engaging and disengaging right at the top then chances are the pedal is not allowing the clutch to fully engage.
