Would it affect the car to adjust the gearshift from the steering wheel to the ground? this is beacause my mav has it on the steering wheel and its pretty uncomfortable. So any ideas would be great for me.

The transmission levers are different for the floor shifter and the column shifter. If you use a cable shifter you can get it to work but if you are using a factory mechanical shifter then most of the time you end up with a big problem - it doesn't want to make the full stroke because of the angle of the rod from shifter to transmission. Some kits include a "bolt-on" link that changes the angle of the transmission lever so the shifter will work - Ford just used a different lever with the proper angle on it.
