Waiting for the correct sized springs, and will need to order tie rod ends, since I cannot seem to find them at any of the local stores.

The rotor/caliper set can be purchased as an upgrade from R&C when you buy the kit for an extra $400 or so, or you can buy the kit separately for approx. $700, part number RC-126 SSBC ‘Force 10’ Sport Twin Brake Kit.

I was contacted by a forum member soon after I bought the crossmember, who said he had the kit and wanted 13" brakes all around, not 11", so he sold me the brake kit new and still in the box.

I found that the springs I was given were the wrong springs. Too long, too heavy, so I ordered the springs that fit this kit earlier this week. I also need to order tie rod ends tomorrow, as I cannot find the right sized ones in the local stores, since I cannot tell the guys "I need tie rod ends for XXXX year model Ford mustang, etc."

Still need to pull the steering column and "modify" it to connect to the steering rack, but the weather is so nice, I am spending the rest of the afternoon out in the yard with the family, cooking up a rack of ribs and drinking mimosas!

What spring rates did you choose for the front?

    I didn't.

Rod and Custom asked me which engine I had, and if it had any aluminum components. A/C or no?

Then they sent the springs they think it needs.

They seem to have taken all the guess-work out of choosing the parts.

I was curious as to what the actual rate was. When my plan was to still use full sized springs in my car, I just bought a powder coated set of Mustang II front springs from Ebay without actually knowing what the rate was. Check your springs when you get them and maybe there is a steel tag on the coil with the rate :tiphat:

I can ask the guy at r&c what the spring rate is for my setup.

Rack is not double nutted. Just lock-washer.

    Thanks, guys!

As soon as the springs come in, I can put it back on the ground, and watch all the welds break, and the frame hit the floor!!! :yikes:

Maybe I should be wearing the HatCam when I do that???:banghead:

You should make one post start to finish so others can find the information in one location when they need guidance for there installation.

I will do that. I had the first one deleted, as it got out of hand.

Most important is to share how I bought this partial kit second-hand, and how some of the parts did not swap. I can help others not fall into the trap of buying cheaper parts from other vendors, that will not fit this kit.

In other words, how being cheap ended up being more expensive!!!

Bob, I've got their coilover package (which is obviously different from Scott's) and went with 450# springs. Willie at RCM tried to get me to use 550's, but after reminding him that my engine is all-aluminum, he agreed that 450's would be OK. And they are d@mn near perfect! ;)
