I just recently enclosed my carport to make a garage out of it. I've had a '73 Grabber sitting in the driveway, just in front of the carport, for about 4-5 years. Jamie came down today and we worked on that '73 for a little while and got it running and moving for the first time in quite a while. The engine and tranny still run smooth. We moved around it to the backyard, parked it on a tarp, and put the car cover back on it. I plan to to get it up and running a little better and then sell it. I will have a few goodies to go with it. I'll use the proceeds from the sale of this car to finish my '77. The economy has not been good to me and I need to get rid of one project to finish another. I'll let the board know when the '73 Grabber is for sale. After we got the Maverick running and moved, Jamie and I took the other car out for a ride and stretched its legs real good.
If anybody could get one running that has been sitting a while, I'd pick Jamie for the job! I know what you mean on the economy, we are surviving, but not a lot left for the toys. Good to see you thinking about getting the 77 finished up. It's taken me this long to get decent paint on mine, now it's off to the interior for a little freshening up. And nothing wrong with that other car. I would be proud to own that one myself. I've even been looking at some of that brand, but not that model. With this economy, there have been some real good prices on one of my dream cars. I may just have to figure out a way to get one now, while prices are down!
Keep me posted. My son that had the yellow Grabber is getting the Maverick fever again and is saving up some money. I'd like to find something a little more complete to get him, unlike the parts cars I have. Don't have to for another major restoration right now.
