As many of you know, the Maverick Sprint came from the factory with stripes on the hood made of decals, not painted on.

Today, I took my Maverick Sprint hood over to Graphic Express, the company where I bought my Mustang Sprint dual stripe kit and body shield decals. They are a Ford authorized decal and stripe kit company and one of the largest of their kind in the country. They already make the body shield decals for the back quarters, but did not have a hood to scan for the hood stripes.

Once they return from the holidays after Jan. 4th, Dan, the owner, said he will make it a high priority to make them available for us sometime in January, 2010.

They will be Grabber Blue with a small red pin stripe around the edge, just like the original ones. As previously stated, he already makes the body shields, so now Maverick Sprint owners will have the correct stripes and shields for their cars. They will be on good 3M paper, not the cheap stuff. I have both the shields and stripes on my Mustang Sprint, and they are top quality.

Cost will be the same as the Mustang ones, $129.95 a set.

I don't know about you, but I am excited!!!!!!!!!!

Cool ... I did not know Sprints used Vinyl on the hood. I assumed they were masked and painted at the same time the lower body was painted.

I forgot to mention the contact info. Graphic Express (352)341-0077.

Dan, I am not sure how they did the bottom stripes. On the Mustang, it was originally one large decal down the length of the side of the body.

    Jim,

That is fantastic news!! Great timing for me! Do you know if the hood decal will also extend over the cowl? Will the double stripes (3/4" blue - 1/4" red) for the sides also be available? Thanks very much for getting it going.

    Jim

Edit: Come to think of it I guess the blue on the cowl was painted on. Makes more sense given the grill work. Just a little red pin stripeing on the sides should handle the cowl.

    Jim,

This only applies to the hood stripe decals. The cowl portion was painted on by the factory. I doubt he will attempt the lower stripes, since most people simply paint them. It is much easier than tape.

This is something I had planned on doing for some time, but just never took the time to do it. While I was there, I picked up 2 sets of Comet GT stripes, one in black and one in silver and a set of Maverick Sprint quarter shields. The shields are the same as the ones I have on my Pinto Sprint. Dan wants me to bring the Pinto Sprint over so that he can scan it's hood, too. However, I don't see a large market for the Pinto hood stripes. There are only a handful of Pinto Sprints left out there. We'll see.

This is great news.....thanks for doing this. I wish somebody would do this for the 1970 Grabber Hood stripe.
