    Ordered the billet maverick gas cap off of ebay last week amd got it in today! Ill post a pic of it on the car tomorrow!

    That is sweet! I was thinking of getting one to, but 60$ is 60$ and it says for 73+. :( Post a pic of it on the car.

    I really liked that cap, back when I was building my mav, but wasnt sure it would "lineup" on the filler neck like it should. Ford seemed to make several filler necks and the slots in them were indifferent spots, if I remember right.

    Cool! Can't wait to see it on the car.

    Mine was a little larger than the panel, and hangs over a bit. I may build the panel up a bit before I paint, to fit the filler cap.

    If it doesn't line up correctly, surely you could saw the flange off and rotate it and reweld it. Maybe have a welding shop TIG it up.

    The issue I had with one similar to that one is it stuck out too far from filler neck leaving all the bolts around filler neck exposed, if this one doesnt do that then I wouldnt mind having one

    See post 7. Someone was questioning gas caps aligning with the neck properly year to year. I also remember trying some other kind of gas cap on mine years ago and it was crooked when tight.

    It's according what color the Maverick was that was used when test fitted. You should know you can't take a part off a red Ford and put it on a blue Ford and expect it to fit. :naughty:
