    Hadn't driven it since last summer. After a few attempts to get Kristen (the 13 y/o) to drive the granny 4 speed in the '85 4x4 truck, she got aggrevated 'cause she couldn't find 3rd. But she's getting good at pulling out without killing it, most of the battle with a manual. I'll get her back to that one a bit later.
    Sooo.... since it's the only automatic I own that's somewhat roadworthy, she got some seat time in the Comet last Sunday. We were on country backroads, but they were wide enough to meet traffic( hardly any)without any drama. So, with year old gas, the tag off the Maverick and those great 4 wheel drum brakes we took off. She does really good for a kid, keeps it in her lane pretty good and maintains speed good too. By the time she's 16 she should be able to drive anything pretty good.
    After letting her drive, I got over there. Geez, I forgot what power felt like:biglaugh:. Big trucks, an Escort wagon, a 300 six truck and the 200 six Mav are pretty much all I've driven in the last good bit. The Comet is slow(9.90 1/8 miles), but compared to my drivers, it sure feels fast.:D
    I'll now stand back and wait for someone to tar & feather me for;
    making my car run on old gas
    incorrect tags-therfore no insurance
    letting a 13 y/o girl drive it- on a public road
    all the what ifs
    But, nothing happened, the car got to stretch it's legs, we made it home w/o a wrecker and most importantly....we had fun & she learned a little bit more about driving.:tiphat:
