seems like a pretty good idea but I think the main thing would be what could you sell them for. I am thinking you would have more time tied up in them than what you could get for them.

ah im not worried about that. i enjoy building things. also i wouldnt charge a whole butt load either. whats the point in charging someone a **** load of money for something that you enjoy making and only takes a few hours of your time. ill never understand 100,000 bucks in labor for a car that only sells for 20,000. anyway im gettin of subject. so what would be a fair price to pay for eaither a metal or a fiberglass version of both?

I'd be interested in a metal one.

While we're here ... would it be more work to make one that was an inch or so taller? Wonder if that would interest anyone (besides me )?

I have often thought that the rear spoiler is not tall enough and have toyed with the idea of putting a 69 Z28 spoiler spoiler on, I am sure it would take some alterations to make it fit, I also have thought (and have seen) a spoiler from a 79 Camaro with the pieces that bolt to the sides at rear quarter and it looks good.

But what I really want is one of the metal spoilers with the rods that support it like on a pro stocker car.

As far as making and selling spoilers it is a tough market and crowd to sell too and unless quality is good and price is cheap you will be doing it for just the fun of doing it. :)

I like the Trans Am one that sorta wraps the corners. I seen two styles, the wrap one and a sorta pointed one.

I am thinking a metal one about two inches taller and no straight edges or corners.

Unless they are cheaper than the originals, i just dont see the point. There are plenty of spoilers still out there but noone wants to pay the price.

    Yes, make a taller one.

I have been considering how to mod my spoiler to make it a little taller.

Z28/Trans AM/etc. are fine too and thats based on individual taste, but do require some fitting and fabbing (I assume).

A nice NEW quality, bolt on, 1 inch taller, grabber style spoiler (with matching extensions of course) would easily pry 200+ bucks out of my wallet.

I have to say, good used ones ARE NOT getting $250 these days. Maybe here and there a seller gets hooked up with a motivated buyer, but used part prices are down as it's not a sellers market right now. I don't see nearly as many spoilers being put up for sale here or on EBAY in the last year+. People are either holding on to them until pricing rebounds OR supply is running out over all  ...

Now this idea would be a winner and if you made them for 74 and up cars you would have a hit (y)

maverick man was making them for years here out of carbon fiber and fiberglass...may wanna ask him why he stopped making them, there may not be much of a market for them any longer...
