Hi Everyone: Brand new to the community. Live near the city of London Ontario and have been a muscle car guy all my life. Grew up listening to the Monkees etc. and the first rock song I learned to play on the drums was Ina-godda-davida!! Home town was Grand Bend, Ontario on Lake huron and always had a radio nearby and a big fan of CKLW "The Big 8" in Windsor. Have family there and in Detroit area. Know my way around the Motor City better than I do Toronto. As a kid started off with Pontiacs as my Dad sold cars during the great muscle car era. So was weened on GTO's - 396 Beaumonts and GS Buicks. Had a wild ride in a 440 Charger one night in the early 80's and was so turned on with the Mopar breed, I bought the thing and was the owner of it - a Cuda-Swinger 340 and a Runner. In the mid 90's got hanging around with a few Ford guys and got hooked on Mustangs. Had a 64 Fairlane Tbolt tribute car recently that I sold and picked up a one owner 98 SVT Cobra convertible last summer out of Michigan with 7100 original miles and a ton of documentation. I couldn't say no. Recently I discovered that Mavericks really flip my switch and am on the hunt for a real nice piece. Of course a V8 manual or automatic. Would appeciate any assistance from the members in helping me find my first Maverick! As you can tell I love all muscle cars and if were a rich man, would have a whole barn full of them. Cheers Doug
Welcome Doug! You and I have to get together for a Tim's one of these days...we have so much in common it's amazing. I teach just a stone's throw from Tillsonburg, just down the road from Frogmore. Do you know that town? If not, how 'bout Langton? I grew up in Windsor. My dad worked at Ford's most of his life. My sibs all still live there. I worked at a Chrysler dealership (Clearwater Dodge) back in the early '70's and drove many of the Mopar muscle cars of the day in the course of my job. I also sold new and used cars for Dan Kane Chev. Olds. Cad. in '73-'75! By the way, I have a project Mav that you might be interested in. I haven't made my mind up to sell it fro sure, but I'm thinking of it very seriously due to an ongoing battle with cancer. PM me if you are interested in more info. Once again, welcome. Later...John B
Howdy from Woodstock. Check my profile. I'm willing to sell my 72 along with a 71 GT parts car. PM me if interested.
