Ok, oer the wheel wells there is some surface rust, you know the stuff that sort of resembles little bubbles, well i was wondering whe best way to get rid of it. Do you just grind it off and smooth it over?

    Thanks

What you see on the outside is only a fraction of whats on the backside. These areas rust from the inside out. No matter how small the bubbles, if you just grind it down, fill it, and paint it, in a couple of months you will kick your self for the wasted time. Always cut all the rust out and weld in new metal, if you want a permanent repair.

Gotta third the motion. Just grinding out the rust won't make it go away for long. Some have had some success with a rust treatment like Rust-Mort and others after grinding. Nothing takes the place of replacing the metal for a permanent repair that will last, though.

What i have done in the past is drill out the rust bubble as long as you can see the back and are sure there is no more rust ... You can then weld it back up or another possibility if you dont have access to a mig is to buy some tinning compound, lead sticks , And some aluminum tape and fill it in with lead using a propane torch from home depot ... Theres a great article at Carcraft.com that gives you the step by step ... Just be sure to follow the safety instructions ...
