Both my Guage Cluster and heater control panel were not looking that pretty sitting up against my re-painted dash. I scrubbed them down in the sink with dish washing detergent which removed the grime but made them look even duller. I had a brainstorm and decided to clearcoat them to bring them back. This way I didn't have to worry about the color or repainting or masking the chrome around guages or repainting the white letters on the heater control. While I had it apart I also buffed out all of the scratches on the guage lenses ... Here is the result. Hard to tell but they were very dull prior with scratched up lenses ... I have never seen a brand new Maverick but I imagine they came out glossier than factory but they look good ..

    Dan-
You have really done a great job on that car. I repainted my needles
after washing my gauges, but didn'y spray them.
I almost went with the white overlays, but just couldn't sway from
    the original look.

I'm thinking about just buying all new gauges from jegs. Then fabricating a way so all the gauges are inline with one another. I want it to look clean and simple.

I like your steering wheel. How did you do that?

Think its a mustang steering wheel with a Mav door panel emblem in the middle
