    I have a 75 comet with a 302. It is a work in progress
Sometime next spring I am hoping to build up a motor for my 75 Comet and I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on the new jegs/kaase heads. Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords did an article over it and said that they were the best flowing SBF heads they've tested. Is this true?

Oh, I see. I knew there had to be a catch somewhere, lol. Well then, what heads would you recommend? I am on a highschool students budget so something reasonable please.

I agree with the AFR's but the size depends on the cfm requirements of the engine. Most of the time a 302 won't use any more than the 185's will handle.

What kind of budget? What kind of car? What are your goals? What is your current combination?

Lots of great suggestions have been offered. AFR is super nice stuff...but they ain't cheap. Kaase heads are also pretty nice but also very expensive by the time the port work is done to make them work as well as they're adverised. There is a thread somewhere on this board (search) about them. They kick butt...but need work. Edelbrocks are good heads and in a good price range. Victor Jr's are probably a little overkill for a mild street-driven 302, but work extremely well on stroker 302's and 351's. I run a set...have been 5.90's at 115 in the 1/8 at 2700 lbs in the Maverick, so they WILL work (and they are untouched). Best bang for the buck, IMO is a set of RPM heads from Edelbrock. Either the 1.94 or 2.02 intake valve sizes....the 2.02's wont work with stock pistons most likely. My Mustang runs a set of 1.94 RPM heads. Fastest it's been is 6.71/105 IIRC. Don't know what that computes out to in the 1/4, but I'd guess a 11-teen or something like that. Not the fastest thing out there but not a slouch either; and being a stock crank & rods (302), I'm kind of impressed with it. It's also around 2700 with me in it. World products makes some iron heads that kick some tail too...as does RHS and TFS. RHS (racing head service) has several choices, 180cc intake ports, 200cc, or 215cc. Which one you get depends on what you have and what you want to do with it. The 200s are a good all-around head for a pretty hot 302 and the 215's are geared toward the strokers & higher RPM stuff. TFS used to make a set of "high port" iron heads that kicked some butt...but I believe they've been discontinued. Correct me if I'm wrong. A friend had a set on his '67 Mustang..ran some 6.20's in the 1/8 at full weight and with a 4 speed Jerico behind a 402" windsor). It ran VERY well!

Well, the car is my daily driver and the motor is just about at it's end. I was going to rebuild it and get a nice, reliable motor that will move the car around pretty good. I am on a tight budget so I'm thinking the edelbrock rpm heads will be the best bang for the buck. Is this true?
