having a hell of a time trying to remove the intake...

    im have a super hard time trying to remove the intake manifold off of my 73 comet 302. changing the stock to a 4 barrel carb. i unbolted everything and i even attached a cherry picker to it to help pry it off. what the freak?!

    Double and triple check all the bolts are out,,,, count em and double check again!

    Oh, did I mention about checking to see if all bolts are out???,,,,

    I've also picked up a block by the intake with all the bolts out. Damn gasket maker. I just found a spot on the front of the intake to gently tap a screwdriver in and pry it off. Once it started to go it lifted right off. You just have to be carefull not to damage the block/intake in the process.

    If its has studs they may be seized in the holes in the intake. Try to remove the studs or soak with penetrant.

    Sometimes a prybar woorks wonders, but be careful where you put it.:)
