Ive been looking at getting a set of headers and a new exhaust system for my 73' 302. The guy at the muffler shop is trying to talk me into getting these http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HED-88308/ instead of the Hooker 6901HKRs that I see on a lot of the mavericks on this board. He says that the thinner gauge metal on the Hookers will warp and cause the seals to leak. Is this something that I should be worried about? Also any suggestions on exhaust setups, H-pipes? X-pipes? How much I should expect to spend? Thanks!!!!

I've never had a problem with Hookers warping and leaking, never heard of anyone else that did either. I installed my 6901s last year, replaced a 23 year old set of Blackjacks. The Hookers were noticeably heavier.

Have had my Hookers for about 9 years now with no problems at all. Can't say for the others as I've never had them. :)

Have owned 2 sets of Hooker 6901's with no problems. Don't think you can go wrong either way.

between summit and hookers look at the flange thickness and you'll see why people like the hookers:yup:
