I needed to replace the passenger front fender on my 72 comet. I found a big bumper Maverick fender which I modified to fit my small bumper car, everything went well until I tried to fit the headlight. The original bucket has an adjuster on the side and one on bottom and also my 74 comet is like that but this Maverick fender has the adjusters on the side and one on the top. Is this just a difference between Comet and Maverick or different years?

You will need a different bucket for the headlight. Email me (see below)...I have some.

'70-74 has the adjustment holes on side and bottom, while '75-'77 had them side and top.

Wow, the shape & depth are different. I never knew that. I thought just the location of the adjusters was different.

The plastic bucket bearings are different and size of hole in fender for bucket to fit into is different also.

Thanks for all the information guys. I actually modified mine to fit (with the 72 bucket) and it adjusts and everything perfectly but the headlight sticks forward about 1/2 further than the other side now but you'd never know unless I pointed it out.

Does anyone have adjusters for the 75-77 buckets? I had to replace both fenders on my 74 and didn't realize until later, one of the fenders I used was the later headlight arrangement. I think I can buy the early model adjusters, but can't find the later model ones and mine are trashed. As always, any help would be appreciated.
