   ok, i just got a 76 maverick and when i turn the lights on they flicker, and the parking lights and dash lights flicker then die, today i replaced the headlight switch and no dice

   Sounds like you have a short somewhere. There are 2 built in circuit breakers in the switch. One for headlights and the other for the rest of the lights.
