So my heater core started leaking today and I don't want to have to do it again after this. On Rockauto it looks like I have some options-- there's an aluminum Spectra Premium/Cooling Depot brand one for $30, and it appears to be exactly the same as the only one O'Reilly carries (which is branded as a Murray) for $32. Rockauto has a copper one for $43, but I don't want to wait for shipping if it isn't going to last any longer than an aluminum one.

So does anyone have experience with the aluminum cores, do they work well and last alright.

I think alum. wud work just fine from a lasting/longevity standpoint. It circulates the same fluid as any alum. radiator and those are pretty much universal now. I have a copper unit, copper is a better conducter than alum. and I didn't see alum units when I got it. I probably wud still have got the copper - just my preference.
