whtere do I start? okay I got this maverick 6 years ago from the local tow/used parts place in town (Whitecourt alberta) to drive my son to the bus at the end of our long driveway when its cold. I used the car for 10min a day for 2months the car then sat in the field for the next 5yrs. I was driving my 2001 dakota but the dakota was badly damaged in an eposide. I had nothing to drive so I thought I would try the maverick not thinking it would ever work again, but with a new battery, gas and some brake fluid away she went. Now I am dedicated to getting this car back into shape, I am on my own with all repairs and parts my spouse doesn't think it's worth it but I am going to show him one way or another, he just doesn't get it. Anyway upon going to register I found out this car is from Alaska and needs an out of province inspection ouch, so I talk cdn tire into doing an inspection to tell me what needs to be to pass the oop inspection, here are the results: 1- no washer (windshield) I fixed last, installed new pump 2- no signal light indicator on dash or dash lights 3- both frt upper and lower ball joints 4- alignment. Wow thats it amazing for a car that old. This car does deserve a 2nd chance, so that brings me here I have no experience fixing cars but have found out that I like fixing this car needs some help with the dash lights and the wiring for this car also some constructive advise also a good book to use we are very limited in this town so I would have to order a book or manual. If anyone has anything that I could look at or print for the dash and its wires I would ever so greatful. I have included some pictures the body work will commence once I've passed the oop and yes it will be done by moi

Welcome. For wiring diagrams try http://www.maverickcomet.com. As far as manuals go, the Chilton manuals show up on eBay fairly regularly, or someone here may have an extra they would part with. Best of luck with your project!

Welcome aboard. Try MavMark and Craig Selvey. They have Chilton manuals for sale a lot. Also MavMarks site has wiring diagrams that have helped me a lot.

    Hey.

Cool story, good luck and have fun showing the hubbie. I'm a factory manual fan, never liked the Chilton's or Hayne's, too much left out. For 1970 the passenger car books are a 5 book set, constantly on ebay for $69. More money but more comprehensive too. You can also buy them individually and usually get them for less than that. Just got my last one, the engine book for $9, including shipping. Covers the maverick as well as other cars, I got two for one since I have a '70 cougar too. And then there's always the good practice of have multiple manuals and cross referencing. If you're going to work on it yourself good manuals are your best investment and the place to start.
