Brand new to the site. I just picked up my first Maverick today. It's a 76 2 door that's in pretty rough shape but being an AZ car the steel is all in good shape. Hope this is not sacrilege on this board but the whole reason for the purchase was to build a drag car. For now its just going to loose a bit of weight get a mild 302 and some gears. Once I figure out how to run a leaf spring car (always ran Fox mustangs) I'll stiffen the chassis some and spray it to 11.50. I never plan on running faster than 10.0 so the car won't be gutted as I may end up street driving it to the local cruise ins. But that is way far away. Right now I need to go through the car, put the motor together and see what it'll do at the track. Hope to find lots of useful information here.
