Hello all. Just got my first Maverick yesterday... 1972 with the 6 cyl 250, 4 lug. Great forum you guys have here! Lots of good info. I don't know much about the different options through-out the years. This one has what appears to be a Grabber hood, was that a factory 6 cyl option or has it been replaced? I'll post pics shortly. Welcome to the board. The Grabber hood was only available in 71 and 72. These bring some serious bucks, if you can find one in good condition. BTW, if your vin has a 93 in it, it is a Grabber. If it's a 91 then the hood was added on to it.

I'll do that for sure. Was there a Grabber option with the straight six and 4 lug wheels? If not, the hood has been added.
The Grabber was only an appearence option. From what has been talked about here, most Grabbers were 6 cylinder equipped.
A Grabber was nothing more than a decor package. They came with 6's and 8's. Sticks or automatics. Any regular options were pretty much available. The Grabber had stripes and a small spoiler on the rear.
I'm in Dallas... Thanks for the help guys. Looks like I have a 93 in my VIN, indicating that it is indeed a Grabber. I'll post pics tomorrow. It's pretty ugly... I have a lot of work to do.
