Hey im almost 16 i got a 72 maverick as my first car it had a stock 302 and it was junk so we found a cheap fresh rebuilt 302. we bought it striped it down and figured out it was a 289 (pretty cool little motor) out of a 66 mustang or something in 66 got it back together and droped in the maverick it runs and revs fine but when u put it in drive and give it the gas it hesitates real bad. we tried a new carb and it didnt fix it we try rejetting it and that didnt work ..we checked the timing and it was fine..so we bought a distrubuter plug and play so we dont have to mess with the points on the old one and to see if the hesitation is in that but we cant start the motor to see cause we got the tranny out of it cause its getting rebuilt...so thank u for letting me join and i hope u can help me or i can help u!!
