About a month ago my credit union sent an invitation to enter a classic car in a contest they were sponsoring. I figured why not, if nothing else it might be fun to see if my car would get posted on their web site. I didn’t think I had “any” chance of winning (public opinion typically takes a sixties-something Mustang or Camaro and trumps a Maverick every time… right!) so I didn’t give it another thought. Today my credit union sends a link and instructs me to vote for my favorite car. Low and behold, there are only six (6) cars to vote for! I wasn't sure how many cars were going to be in the contest, I figured lots. However, they must have really weeded out the entrees, or didn't have many submittals. Either way, now I think I "may" have a chance to win this thing!

The winner will be the lead car in the Blue Water Open Cruise in Pt. Huron, MI on July 9th. My kids would go totally nuts! I’m not even going to mention it unless we win, because every other car show I’ve entered we haven’t ever won anything, and I don’t want them to get their hopes up.

So, I need your help to pull this off. Anyone can vote (but only once). Click on the link below which opens to the Community page for E&A Credit Union. Then click in the "What's Hot / Vote Now" area to place your vote...

It would be pretty cool to see a “Maverick” lead the Open Cruise parade….

    Thanks, I appreciate your support!

I tend to agree, and that '33 being bright Red (for the WOW factor) doesn't hurt it either.....

I just looked up the rules of the contest (didn't pay much attention to them b4 cause I thought I didn't have a prayer in winning) and it says they will announce the winner on Monday, July 5th. The winner will also have the option to display the car in the Downtown Classic Auto Show in Pt. Huron on July 10th.

From reading the "Judging Section" of the contest rules, the "Marketing Staff" randomly narrowed down the entries to the final six for public voting (no I did not bribe anyone, lol). The voting will be from June 22 to July 2.

Thanks again everyone for your support....
