    hello
I am peter and new to this group and I have just purchased a 1972 maverick. have a lot of questions but i will keep them to one at a time.
The car that I bought needs a lot of work and I am looking at modifing it and restoring it to a good rod but I dont know where to begin. For several days I have been reviewing some of the older posts and looking for ideas and I found a post the deals with the conversion from drum brake to disc and I would like to know what kind of vehicle is the best to find the part for make the conversion work and the difficulty of it.

A Ford Granada or Mercury Monarch are the donor cars your looking for. If you'll type brake conversion in the forum search engine you'll probably get all the info you need to do the swap.

Also look for newer Mavs and Comets 75-77 for the disc brake assembly.

Use the search function of the site and it will tell you all you need to know and more. :) Search for "disc brake conversion" and you will get lots of info. Good luck.

Use this site it helped me alot but with the frount disk coversion it is very simple i was 15 when i did it to my comet the only thing i didnt like was those old spindles are on there good and it takes a bit "tapping" with a pickle fork to get them off. Also make sure you dont cut any lines because you may need them
