Hey guys, my name is Zan Parks, I'm 17 and my first car is this '73 Mav. This is the first forum website that i have dealt with and i'm have'n some trouble getting around. But anyways, as soon as i can get my ten posts I'll upload some pic.s of my car. It has a 302 out of a '85 Mustang, Tunnel Ram with 2 450 Holley carbs., Dart racing heads, A 9" Detroit Locker rear end, a Hughes Street strip trans., flat top pistons and much more, It has over 400 Hp, im not sure of the exact HP, but it only has 70,000 miles on it and only about 3,000 on the engine. Glad to know there are still some Maverick Lovers out there!

    :Welcome: from Northeast Pennsylvania

How do those 450's and tunnel ram work out for you? How is your low end power?

I have a set mounted sideways on my 393C stroker that I plan on using. They sit on a Weiand tunnel ram manifold. There is a picture in my gallery.

I love what it has done for my car. It didn't take away any from the bottom end power, and it gave me alot after hitting about 2500 RPM i can really feel it kick in. I do have a promlem though with it loading up on me when i go through a drive-thu or something like that, but it gives me a great excuse to rev it up and show off! haha

That's encourging news to hear that it works out for you. (y)

I mounted my 2 cards sideways because it lines up the primaries and secondaries to the length of the manifold. I read where mounting the carbs the more correct way, gives you gaps in the gas flow when using only the primaries. But I would imagine all of that equals back out when all 8 barrels are open.

Yea your right, it is a usual thing for me to have to clear out the carbs while going down the road. Once i open up all 8 barrels it clears everything up, and plus it'll pin you back against the seat. haha:bananaman
