I'm in. Is this virginia motorsports park the one in Dinwiddie (or petersburg depending on the advertisement)? If so, it's only 10 min. from my home.

I just hope my part-time budget will allow me to get my body work and paint job done. Doesn't need much, just some warm weather and TLC.

You can bet that I'll be there! Yes the Fun Ford Weekend is at the Dinwiddie Dragway or VMP (Virginia Motorsports Park) I look forward to seeing everyone who can make it, this past year it was me a only two other Comet/Mavericks there.

It's just south of Petersburg Va. Here is a link.
    VMP

If you add about 45 minutes from Richmond and that's how long it would take you to get there.

I'll put a post up 4 to 6 week before the event, it's aways been in late June in the past. Hotels and Motels are close by but you can camp at the park if you want. There is a car show as well as 1/4 drag racing, and here is the kicker the park food is really good but pricey.

Looks like I won't be lonely next year... and that's a good thing!

Tech is done by the good people from Fun Ford, it's a cakewalk, and I’ve never even opened the trunk.
They might ask if you have the standard drive shaft safety loop and that's about it. The first year I didn't have one and all they said was I need to get one. If your car is slower then 11.99 you don’t need a roll cage and if you fill the need to fudge your time no ones going to check on it.
Now if you are faster then 9.99 you will need to have your chassis certified, and that one is a must with them.
    Hope this helps.

Works for me. I have the battery in the trunk and I'm not about to mount one of those butt ugly switches on the back.
