Hi gang....my name is Mike and I live in Tullahoma, TN. I look forward to checking out this forum and site as I have purchased my first Maverick, a 1970 Grabber. I bought this car from the original owners son who happens to be 61 yrs old. This car has been stored in a dry barn since 1974 and was last run in 1998. It was in a town about 40 miles from me. Me and a friend of mine went to look at it and found a 69 Camaro sitting right beside it!! My friend was after the Camaro so he got it. The Mav was shipped to a dealership(Crown Ford) in Nashville, about 60 miles from me, then the original owner (a lady) who is from Tullahoma wanted a Grabber but our dealership didn't have one, so they found this one in Nashville and sent it down. The car has 36,300 actual miles, is Grabber Blue, factory air with 200 CID. It was very dirty when I picked it up and the drivers quarter paint was peeling bad from being repainted in 1973 after a minor bump according to her son. I had it repainted, other wise, this car is all original and untouched with the exception of the new belts, tires, hoses, plugs, voltage regulator, all fluids front and rear, and brakes and wheel cylinders. The interior is untouched as is the trunk which still has the original B78 dual whitewall spare in the trunk. My son and I have put alot of elbow grease in waxing and getting the original paint back in shape and it looks awesome, unbelievable. All the original paperwork came with the car..owners manual, safety fold out, all her insurance docs dating back to 70, even the window sticker was put into an envelope!! We put some freeze 30 and a can of oil in the AC and voila...no leaks and runs like a top with cold air. This car has absolutely no rust, no leaks, no nothing. I will try to post some pics. Hopefully I can figure it out . Well, I tried, but couldn't get it to upload. Any suggestions or help. Mike
Sweet! Visit http://www.dixiemaverick.com and try to make it too our Dixie Roundup at Fun Ford Weekend in Commerce, GA ... second weekend in April. Or Cumming, GA the first weekend in April for an all-Ford show!
Sounds nice. You should consider joining the MCCI and joining us in Owensboro, KY for the national meet-the Roundup. We didn't have anyone from TN last year. Seth
Welcome to the board. It sure sounds like you found a real prize there. Can't wait to see some pics of it.
to the board. Looking forward to seeing the pictures. I had a similar experience with my Comet purchased in Idaho. Pictures being uploaded cannot exceed a certain size. Also need to make sure you select the correct catagory you want to post them to.
