 Hey guys, I went into summer preparing to drop my snorty smallblock into my comet. I was all excited and then left you all hanging because college was out and that is where I did all my stuff on the web. Well After pulling my hair, busting my knuckles and swearing a little, I got 'er in! Then, I finally fired it! Wow, what a hoot. I never knew 3.00:1 gears could be so lively. I can only imagine what some real gears would do. You know, maybe some 4.56s. I just got back from a 1000 mile round trip to Missoula, Montana and it was great cruisin' on the highway. Gas mileage sucked, (16 mpg roughly) but who cares it's only money right? Anyway thanks to all who helped this poor college student pull it off! couldn't have done it without you. Oh yea and it sounds awesome. My snorty roller cam (for injection) really lopes under a 4 bbl! Sweet!!! And I got a $110 "exhibition of accelleration" ticket before my first 1000 miles! ^%@&^!!! Oh well. Thanks again.

sounds like everything went together well. put those 4.56's in and you'll really be complaining about gas mileage.:)

How does one go about setting up an "exhibition of acceleration"? Sounds like somthing that I might enjoy doing. :D

    You would

Basically an exibition of acceleration is a broad term that covers a list of forbidden activities typically associated with V-8 equipped vehicles. I my case, the patrolman was fueling up (the govt station happens to be near the on-ramp to I-90 in my town.) My girl was with me and so I mixed up a big batch of testosterone and gasoline and burnt one tire halfway up the on-ramp. No big deal you know, but the officer was jealous, so he ticketed me.(3 miles later) He did actually say "sounds like it runs pretty good, what's in it." I sheepishly replied "Oh...you know....just a 302. Anyway, I think its a good ticket to get. Anyone can speed, but only a select few can "exhibit acceleration!!!"

I got one of those once, when I was younger. But, he called it "exibition of speed". Pretty spendy ticket, but I though it was worth it at the time. I smoked the tire for one block & never went over 40mph...I agree, I think he was jealous! Glad to hear you made a long trip with it. I'm leaving tomorrow night for Lewiston, Idaho. Going to "Hot August Nights". It's a 6 hour trip & over 300 miles one way. Good to know these cars can make long trips, but at $3 a gallon, can be a bit spendy...My mileage is about the same as yours, with 3.55 gears...Have fun cruizing. I know I do...

Just be smart man. Too many tickets and you won't be driving for a while. Take it from somebody that lost his license twice before he was 22 years old. What can I say???? There's drivers and then there are drivers.:):evilsmile ;)

I had fun but it certainly was not worth all the money I spent to get my license back/car outta impound etc......not to mention fearing everyday I drove to work I would get pulled over without a license and get into more trouble. Roughly 2 years without a license sucks. Be Safe............. :yup:

    Glad it runs strong(y)

Good job man. Have fun with it!
If you want to really keep it as a driver. You may want to keep the 300 gears, but just make it a posi.(y)
