just brought this home today Despite the half paint job it's not bad , just need to get it running right. Then I was thinking of painting it. Bought for only 535$!
Welcome. If the body work is done and its in primer I would get it painted asap before the primer absorbs moisture and ruins all the work that was don eon the body. Take it to Maaco and get a $300 paint jo sprayed on it. They paint ok, but but charge alot for body work. You will save alot of frustration later when the metal under the primer where it was sanded dwon to metal rusts from not being sealed.
Yea it's already been outside for a long time so it's too late to seal it up , gotta do all the work all over again , lol. I put a post in the technical area for trying to get it to stay running. Keeps turning off w/o my foot on the gas.
Check for vacuum leaks. Also, spray some water in a mist at the base of the carb while it is running. If it slows or stalls, you have a vacuum leak in the carb gasket or a bad fitting on the carb. Also, check all the vacuum lines and see if they are dried out, cracked or worn out. Good luck,
I've started a project thread for it here http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=85924 Thanks for the welcomes!
