Yea, The top half of that picture. When using this starter it already has a solenoid mounted to it. Like a chevy starter. So when you run your starter cable down from your existing solenoid, to the big post on the starter, just make a little jumper wire that goes over to the small post on the starter mounted solenoid.
I have the Ford Motorsport 1.6kw in my Mustang. I had the 1.1 KW one, but it would crank slow hot. I bought the 1.6kw instead, and found out that I had wired the 1.1 unit wrong. I had battery power going through the little wire instead on the big one. Ford did a lousy job of explaining their cables. Now I have a spare 1.1kw Ford Motorsport starter sitting around. Can't decide if I am going to sell or or wait for the starter in the Mav to fail.
That's what I used. works great. been in three years now I think. Hey thanks for reviving my original artwork too!
This may help....http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=7910&highlight=Mustang+starter it will turn an 11-1 compression motor like its an 8-1.
