:hmmm:found a 71 Maverick for sale not too far from me. It's got the small bumpers and a REAL nice bucket interior from what i can see. along with a 250 (seized up) and auto trans. it doesn't have a hood or grille. Now, i'm trying to buy wagesofsin's 4-door comet, but the guy sellin the maverick is askin 600 if you bring the wheels and tires. I was thinkin buy it and part it out to you guys. just wonderin what the stuff would go for and what kind of interest there is out there at the moment... the only problem would be i'd want to keep the car. IF i were to buy it i'd probably use my car as a parts car and fix it up. Then part out what's left of mine. (but it would be sad to see the duck tape mav go away...) I'm torn between 2 cars. and don't know what to do. lol. maybe i can get a job at the new game store. just wonderin what you guys think.

I'm pretty sure thats a grabber If the interior and bumpers are as good as they look it would be worth it. Does it still have the grabber spoiler

that is a good deal, id have to say id do it and fix both up. itd just be nice to have parts avalible and sell if needed.
For parts, id be interested in the bucket seats for a resonable price, tail lights, and auto shift. is that ratchet?

i remember seeing that car for sale. it's well worth $600, but if u part it out you'll be getting rid of alot of good stuff u could use on ur car. kind of a hard decision to make....

i know that's the problem. i can't be certain i'd be willing to part with it. do you think i could get 600 out of it for parts? the original plan was buy it and part it out so i'd have the 250 dollars i need to buy the 4-door. but i'd want the bumpers and interior, but id have to sell them to make money... gar it's stressin me out. :) if you guys think i could sell the parts for what i put into it i may do it.
-If i can at least get what i pay for it (IF i buy it) i may do it just to save the parts and get them into the maverick community. It doesn't look like it has a grabber spoiler. the guy says it's a possible grabber clone.

hmm. after some more thought, i'm seriously considering doing it. I think this is too good a deal to pass up. we'll just have to see what happens. I think i'll email the guy and see what happens.

the front bumper appears to be a small bumper comet not maverick. you could part it, or you could combine the two to make one then sell whatever you don't need at that point.it does appear to be a grabber interior, not sure that the car is though. the buckets are way nicer to ride in than a bench setup. they also sell for a decent price if you like your current interior better.

The duct tape Maverick will always be special to you, but if this one is in much better shape, it is the small bumper car, I'd say buy the white one and use the parts off of yours to fix the white one and part out yours.

BTW if you don't have the $250 to buy the 4 door, where oh where are you gunna get $600 to buy the white Maverick

I only need 250 more for the 4-door. I have 500 in my pocket right now. and if i can sell that motor/trans for 100 i'll have enough for the 2-door to part out or restore, i don't know.

I saw that one listed too. Looks like a decent buy.

IMO: Don't part out a car that is worthy of fixing up. If it's a complete rust bucket...that's different. If the duck tape mav isn't in bad shape, then don't part it either! Remember that the more cars we part, the less that are around.

i know, but also, it may save another maverick, or it could be the parts to save 2 mavericks. Anyways, i don't want to part out the 77 either, it's my first one, but i don't know if i can afford to fix them both up, but then again, both the mavs AND the comet would be nice, but it'd take more time than i have to get the money together.

if i was you i would just keep your maverick, keep saving up your money and if you get to buy the Grabber then thats awesome, but if its already sold theres always gonna be another one :thumbs2:

i cant see the pics but if its pretty solid i'd hate to see it get parted out....
