The car belongs to Spectre. It is currently going through a complete build. I spoke to a couple of guys from Spectre last weekend at the Street Machine Nationals in Springfield, MO when they came over to look at my Maverick.

Here's an update on the Spectre Maverick, it is really getting close to completion. The suspension was replaced with a Rod and Custom Motorsports Mustang II in the front, in the rear it features a modified Rod and Custom Motorsports Coilover Kit for a Mustang.

This is the modified rear floor to accomodate the R&C Coilover Kit. The rear seat is long gone, the car will be a 2 seater and the rear will be covered with a stereo enclosure.

The electrical side of the build has taken the longest. ECU, Fuel Injection Controller, and a boatload of Autometer Guages all had to be wired in, while keeping the Ford wiring harness to run the body.

Spectre wanted the car to be unique to showcase their new hpR Filter line. The drivetrain is a 550HP, turbocharged 2JZ-GTE Inline-6 from a 4th generation Toyota Supra, with a 5 speed and a 9" rear from JawsGear.com with 3.89:1 posi. The 5th picture below is a sketch of the aluminum intake system designed for the car. The filters will fit inside the cowl of a Carbon Fiber Hood from Maverickman.com.

With the Coilover Kit we were able to fit a 285/40/18 in the rear, the fronts are 235/40/17's. The wheels are Boulevards by Centerline Racing Wheels.

Thanks for the comps guys, and I know that alot of people don't get the Supra deal. I'm 47 years old and grew up building Muscle Cars, mostly Mopars. All of my buddies freaked out when I started building Supras, they didn't get it.

All that I can say is don't knock it until you try it.

Here's a sample of what the Maverick will sound and drive like.

Imo A Japanese engine should never be in an American car, but vice-versa is cool. But w/e floats your boat.
