Finally, after 2 1/2 years of fighting with my insurance company over the loss of my cars in my house fire,i was able to go see them today at the impound yard.Knowing from descriptions my neighbors gave me,i was sure that my explorer was a total loss. But i was told my many that my maverick wasnt burned as bad.Being that i had recently rebuilt the 71 maverick the summer before the fire,i had quite a bit of time and money invested in the project. So,i went to see the cars today, with camera in tow.Nervously driving thru the yard with the owner,we came upon the little bit of yellow still showing on the mav.The shock of seeing my tweety(as my daughter named her)brought back a lot of emotions in me.I will try to include a few photos of the car.Anyhow, there are quite a few good parts left on the car(yea,a few!).I can have posdeesion of the car at anytime, however,i have nowhere to store the car,or the time to disassemble any of the parts. If anyone on the board might be interested in salvaging the body, its yours for the taking. They can load the car on a flat bed with a forklift if someone really wants it.I can tell you what i feel is still savalgeable in further threads, but for now, here's a few pics!i hope this works! Kevin

Still working on the pics, but heres a list of salvageable parts:rear bumper, rear valance, rear deck lid, rear taillights, new re-arched leaf springs installed 1 yr before, freshly rebuilt 250 motor built with clifford performance parts,ie:head, weber carb, new pistons, clifford 2 into 1 header, clifford valve cover.Motor still turns by hand, and oil still looks like new.mostly heat damage under hood,as the spark plug wires and hoses are just slightly melted or sooted.interior is trashed,as is the glass.Doors are iffy.oh yea,i did remove the gas cap,it has the maverick horn emblem on it.
