In a mav if you were to put an angle finder on the motor with the car level what would the angle finder read? That would be with a trans in the car bolted in.
to many variables, like are your front springs saging or in good shape or cut, same with the rear, tire sizes mater also.
If you put an angle finder on the valve cover it will not be level...it will be down on the trans side. The flange where the carb bolts to on the intake manifold is angled so the carb sits level or almost level. The driveshaft angle is more important than the engine being level.
According to a show on Speed this weekend .... The engine should be tilted back 4 degrees ... they were building custom motor mounts and that is the angle they said to use. Had to do with Crankshaft / Driveshaft alignment ...
what are you going off of the car being level from. the bottom lines of the car, the trim lines, window sills? what are you trying to do? are you puting a motor in with custom mounts? really the only thing that matters on the angle of the motor is as mentioned before is the carb should be level and the operateing angles of the ujoints.
