The thread about offers on your car made me wonder. Has anybody ever sold a Maverick or Comet? If so, what did you actually get for it?

Offers are great for the ego, but if you never sell, they don't mean much. Show me the money!

I sold a super nice 74 LDO (the brown one) for $8500 last year. That's the most I ever got out of one.

Generally when someone sells them on here they don't post the sale price, they just stop posting. It's a fair question.

I bought mine in 2006 for $840 off Ebay as a runner-project. Used it as a semi-daily driver for a while, had it in storage a longer while, then sold it on Ebay for $600. It ran only 95% of the time and the day I put it up it wouldn't start and I put that in the auction. Got it going the next day but the damage was done. The kid who bought it drove it home an hour away though so it ran okay.

Got nailed by Fleabay fees on the sale, will never use them again...

Of course I know of some Mav/Comets being sold. Your interpretation of my statement is misguided. Perhaps you should quit trying to pick people's statements apart and add something constructive instead. You seem to be good at that. I just wanted to give people who had sold an opportunity to tell their story.

I am sure that some people that have sold are no longer on here. Anyone know what their cars sold for?

Sold my yellow 73 Comet GT 302 C-4 floor shift car to a kid in Ohio. It was a running car. He had posted on here that he was looking for said car. I didn't want to sell the car, but offered it to him cause he was looking for one, as a father/son project. He had it shipped to Ohio. Gave it to him for $1200, with a trunk full of parts & various other items (models, etc). He did send me pics of the progress. Last I heard, he was trying to sell it on here, to go to school... Have lost contact with him. I believe he went by Trey73 on here. Not real sure... Wish I still had that car. Was my first GT with factory 302 floor shift C-4...

The only one I got rid of I gave away. No Drivetrain, no doors, no decklid, hole in the dented hood, floors and torque boxes gone, no interior, no steering wheel not a single part of any value left and here's the best part....no wheels. "Sold" it to a scrapyard. Left the front on jackstands and the rear drums sitting on the ground and they dragged it onto a flatbed and took it away for free. Good deal for me.

It's just a car..I wasn't ready to sell it at that point. My next one will be nicer.
