A guy I bought parts from told me not to use a bottle or can opener to remove them. He said he takes a 4 inch piece of hardwood with a good straight edge and sitting in the car, sets the lip of the trim on the straight edge and taps the wood lightly with a hammer and they come off without a hitch. I haven't removed any, so, don't know if it works any better, but he swore by it.

I heard about using wood also. I removed a set from the junkyard with a can opener. I bought a new can opener at the grocery store for $1.49 and it bent before I got started good. I bought an old can opener for 7 cents at the Goodwill store and it finished the job. Be sure to wrap 2 or 3 layers of electrical tape on the end of can opener and take your time removing the trim or it will dent.

Taken many sets off using the opener and it can be tedious, I will try the block of wood next time as it sounds like it will work pretty easily
