Joe, Who (and how) do you have to contact at Ford to get such a report? I remember Craig having one with his '74 LDO that he sold be have always forgotten about asking about it untill now
I have that report for my Sprint and Comet GT. Neither mention Sprint or Comet GT in the option list.
Won't a Marti Report give you the Stallion info? As for the "999" report, thats what Ford use to call it, just call their customer service line, and ask. It's been talked about on here a few times, should pop up if you search 999. ?
Thanks Dave & Joe. I did however find this posting as well from another forum... You can get your Ford 999 report for you vintage Mustang through Ford's E-mail system. No misguided phone calls or letter writing to hassle with. This is an alternative to the Marti report with the same basic info, only FREE! Beware, it may take a few months to get it, though. Here's how: First google or go to ownerconnection.com, look at the bottom of the site Click "Contact Us". Next page under corporate info click "Email". Next page for topic scroll to "general vehicle questions". In the comment Questions box ask for the 999 report or vehicle options report for your classic Mustang. Enter the requested info, no comma in the odometer reading and enter your VIN # with periods at the end to fill in the required space (I.E. 9FO2R111222.....) I believe it was 4 or 5. You will receive an email from Ford in a couple days stating they have your request. Then someone will call from Ford's customer service office in a couple days and tell you the time of expected wait and where it will come from. They told me 4-6 weeks. Once again, this is better than trying to call Ford's office and you can't beat the price. Jim.
The report is free but as I mentioned, it does not mention Sprint, Stallion, or Comet GT. Does anyone have Grabber in which the report does list Grabber in the options?
Don't know why but I find the idea of a "Youth Appearance" option funny. Wonder what that would translate to today? Maybe giant aluminum rims and a huge non-funtional spoiler with racing stripes.... Or perhaps it would just come with a sideways fitting ballcap and giant sloppy jeans...
Mine does, when it breaks the serial number down, but not in the options. (93) 2-door Ford Maverick Sport Sedan Grabber
Wonder if it has something to do with the year since you guys both have 71's maybe they changed it in 72 or 73
Code 62D(sports sedan code) from build years 1971-1975 is the body code used for Grabbers. It was not a body code in 1970 for Mavericks, nor after 1975. After that, in 1976 only * sports sedan option available was offered for Granada only. The Maverick, Mustang and Pinto then had a * Stallion option available in 1976 only. In 1977 sports sedan and stallion option dissapeared with option * such as pony and cobra were used in some of the line with Maverick using *Limited option available, ,which I dont know yet what that means.
