if you want to spend less 302 is the way to go it will make more HP per dollar than that 200....a T5 swap will be simpler since it already has a manual tranny, look in the tech article there a good write up in there.

I went to an mechanics shop that rebuilds motors all the time and he said that he could give me around 200 horespower and a complete rebuild for $2,500 ;) very pricy but a very cool way to be different :yup:

Swapping to a 1969 - 1971 250 will give you a 30% boost in power. Putting your 200 head on a later 250 will do the same. milling the carb flange and opening the hole for a two barrel and adding a mild cam will add more HP quickly too. The installation of headers is a must when adding HP to the sixes.

i was going to just hop up my original 250

but then i guess i got a wake up call lol, dollar for dollar your money is much more well spent on a 302...

tho some simple cheap things like a carb and exhause will make your I6 a little more plesent to drive. its going to take even more money then a 302 though to make it "fast"

I'm assuming that for a v8.A 200 hp 200 ain't happening for that kind of money.Remember that most 200s are not even 100hp stock, and getting that other 100hp is very difficult with the stock log head. The new aluminum head/detached intake helps a bunch, but it's about $1800 by itself.Check out some of the combos over at fordsix.com
