Well after becoming the wheel man of a friends 94 Dodge 2wd diesel I feel like giving up on my Comet....lol After going to a local diesel drag event I was able to come home with low ET for any pickup that was there. My best was a 11.23@124 with traction issues about 80-100ft out it seemed the suspinsion unloaded and the 31'' M/H street slicks couldnt stick. It was a blast to drive. Heck I drove it to and from the track, It drove so nice on the road. I wish I could say I had a video but I dont yet. I hope I can find someone who was there and taped it.
Oh and dont worry I wont give up on the Comet, I just need to add a few things....lol

Yeah a 100 shot would put me in front of the Cummins. Im just not sure if the stock crank and rods will take it. It has forged flat tops, ARP rod and main studs. I guess thats a start.

Wow. Surely the Mopar wasn't stock. Is it turbo'd?

Nice numbers for a DD truck!

I wish it were my truck Rick. Its a friends 94 Dodge 2wd Auto truck. To be honest not a lot is done to it (well what I consider not a lot) Stock internal 5.9 Cummins, "BIG" twin turbos 62mm on top and about a 90mm on the bottom, small 370hp Marine inj $300,inj pump has about $500 bucks in it for more fuel, 14bolt chevy rear Detroit locker 3.21 gears, the kicker would be the $7,000 Auto transmision and yes thats a 7 in front of 3 zero's..lol

It is amazing what you can get out of a diesel. 11.23 with a vehicle that weighs what, 5700 lbs?

"I wish all it took was money"

    Yes that's a fast pickup....

but wait til it blows. LOL. Things get really really expensive really really quick when it comes to diesels. That and the fact that when it does blow, the track personnel are going to be pissed when they find 15 quarts of engine oil on the track, and maybe about 5 gallons of antifreeze...

Kills me how fast you can make a Cummins and power-less-stroke. All ya do is add fuel, more or less. But they still won't corner!

We did take mercy on track personel if it does blow, as we run straight water with a rust inhibitor. But they still will have 12qts of oil to deal with. Next step is line lock, Cage, and Rancho 9 way Adj rear shocks. Im sure we can get this tank in the 10s befor winter.

And your right they dont corner very well.....lol

    Put some head studs on & you'll be set.I ran 150 shot on a stock '88 roller(except ARP rod bolts/head studs)for over 6 years.
