Ok guys need alittle help on this.....I have the car running and I had to take it down to my dads shop to pull the tranny back out, on the way there I noticed some vibration, I just thought that is was because of the open exhaust pounding on the fire wall. Well today my dad pulled it off the lift because it was suposed to be having the exhaust done, and he seems to think that my vibration is not all in the exhaust. Ok no to the question :D

I have a 86 F-150 302 with a C4 behind it, as far as I know the Harmonic (spelling:rolleyes: ) ballancer is the one that was on it in the truck ( not sure ) and I am running a 50oz flexplatel, I think it is 157 teeth. Should I be running the 28oz, or do I maybe have the wrong ballancer on the front of the motor. I know that the flexplate that was in it before had the smaller weight and I changed it to the 50oz because that is what I was told that I needed to run. Got any ideas:?:

I can help a little. The balancer and flex plate need to be the same im-balance (28 or 50). They also need to match the crank in the engine.

What year 302 is in you car?

Acorrding to this website you have a 50 imbalance motor. Here is the site http://www.geocities.com/cping3/late302.html Its under balancing differences

If your old flex plate had smaller weights maybe the motor was changed to a pre 79 and it is the 28 imbalance. Do you know the history of the truck motor? Could the har. balancer be worn out enough to cause your vibration even tho it is the correct balance.

How does it run power wise? 302's have 2 different firing orders depending on the cam installed.

Sorry I cant be of more help.
