During Bike Week, a friend of mine, and also a bartender in the bar I work in, was out riding on a little cruise around NW Florida, he and his girlfriend spotted a Maverick sitting next to the road with "Make an Offer" on the windshield!
Knowing that I am Maverick poor, and listening to me whine over drinks with him about my car he told me of it's location and I am off to take a look......look out Matt (gmatthew76) I am headed up in you're part of the country...I am taking the camera just so if I don't get it, some of you may want to see it and make them an offer.
I will post pics here when I get back.

    I'm Baaaaackkk
Boy what a waste of time and gas on that one!!
But I had to go and see cuz you never know lol
It's a 1973 and looks it, it will be easier to tell you the good points on the car so.......it had a dash cap that looked great!
The rest? ok here we go... no carpet, floor shifter auto, way too fat of tires on the jacked up rear (btw he said was a 9'' posi 411...but I saw 8") the grabber hood was not in too bad of shape minimal rust on it, quarters had been repaired at some point, the cowls did not leak (I checked with a gallon of H2o) old mustang seats, dented Quarter on left side, stock looking 302 but he said was built lol, floor boards had lots of surface rust, looked like the windows were left down alot, door panels were homemade, did have dual flowmasters on it.......now his asking price.....hold on to your seats.......$3500.00!!!!! :eek3: :coco:
Has a business there, auto repair and said his partner ran out on him last week and he needed money........and he will stay needing money trying to sell that car for that price!

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
You gotta go easy on people sometimes. They see other fords sell for a lot of money, so they think mavericks are worth that much also.

Unfortunately they're not :D Especially because they made a ton.

Out here a 64-66 mustang in that very same condition sells for $3-6,000 all day.
But a maverick in the same condition can be picked up for $3-500.

A nice thing to do is to politely tell them its not worth that much. But of course some people think they know it all and will be rather rude when you tell them they dont have a gold mine.

    Butt Ugly!

    Hey Money,
Where did you find that thing? Not that I'm interested in looking at it (thanks to your pics), but I'm curious as to where that over priced dog is. Oh and by the way they finally crushed that 75 at the pic n pull. I drove up there on Wed to buy the passenger door and some chrome pieces and lo and behold there was an old dodge dart where the mav used to be. It's a shame to, that car still had quite a few good parts left on it. Oh well thats the story of my life , always a day late and a dollar short.

    Have a great weekend.
    :tiphat:

I must say he did start it up, and to my amazement it cranked right over and busted off....did run a bit rough but the guy has a shop there as his business, you would think he would tune it a bit before trying to sell it.

I picked up my 70 Mav for $900 didnt know if it ran or not (it does:whew:)
because most people watch TV see and old car auction and think if its old its worth a bunch of money. But I did find a couple of Mavs sitting on the side of the road at a salvage yard. ones a 70(complete car) the others a 73(also complete)he said he wants $1500 apiece for them, but he would probably take less I would have got the 70 but I had just bought my new baby

    Found your Grabber

Hey Money, I was driving around visiting some customers I haven't seen lately, and ran across the old Maverick you where looking at a while back. It ain't gettin any prettier,. but he has dropped the price to $2500. I still think he's about $1000 to high, but he's heading in the right direction.
