are mounts and such available for a 300 i6. i want to put a six in my car and i want to make it fast. i am just trying to be original and i understand it will cost more to get the power but i think it would be fun. also i have just heard about these but dont know what vehicle they were originally from. any ideas?:hmmm:

They originally came in ford trucks up to '96.They are a killer torque engine, but not a real high rpm runner.Never came in any unibody fords, but there have been several put in older Mustangs/Mavericks.Go prowl around at fordsix.com and find out how they done it.

exactly why i want to build up my six. how many cars do you see at car show with a v-8 compared to a built up six cylinder.

i think it would be legit to have a 6 that will run with some v8s. not necessarily drag races but you know what i mean :thumbs2:

I don't believe the 300 will fit without a lot of mods. But there is a falcon with a 250-6 out of Tucson, Az with a turbo on it that runs in the 12's at the track. Nice car and has been featured in a few magazines.:)

I am not positive, but IIRC the 200/250 use the same mounts as the 240/300.
Someone will correct me if I am wrong.

I have seen several pics of drag Mavs with 300s. I don't recall ever seeing a street car though. All the 300s I have seen in our cars have all had relatively large hood scoops on the passenger side of the hood to allow room for carb and air cleaner.
The rest seemed to fit fine. Tight front to back, but not bad looking.

Personally, I'd like to use a 200 with a turbo on it. A turbo made for a 3.8 Buick T-Type/GN/GNX would be perfect IMO.

I saw a 'you tube' type video a couple years back of a really junky 65 Stang coupe with a 200/C4/4 lug rear. The young owners ran across a turbo at the junkyard and pretty much duct-taped it into service on this rust bucket Stang. The video was before and after. Anyway the car went from turd to a spooling little monster!
The engine bay pics went from junk 200 to a junk 200 with a tape and bubble gum installed J/Y turbo! But hey, it sure worked!

exactly! something that people asume is a v8 cause it sounds and runs like it but you pop the hood and its a six. i would love to see peoples reaction to it.

But that's just it...they DON'T sound like a v8. You can make them sound bad ass but I've never heard one I couldn't tell was a six right off the bat.
Also, you will not be able to use a stock hood because of the height of the height of the 300. Kinda takes away from the idea of looking stock.
