    Fella's,

I've had a e manifold leak & today I decided I've had it & took it off to replace the gasket. What I've found is the the surface of the manifold is pitted to the point of not being flat. I'm tempted to take a sander (say #80) to the surface but fear that the 4 "landings" will no longer be on one continous plane. Should I take this to a machine shop and have it ground flat? If so, Would any old machine shop due or should I seek out an engine shop?

    Thoughts?

..from what i've seen ...they just put it on a belt sander...if you have access to one, you could do the same...:Handshake

If you are going to take it to a shop take it to an engine shop, if you take it to a standard machine shop they will probably throw it up on a mill and charge you for mill work. You can do it yourself just use a belt sander and a strait edge to veify that you are keeping the embossments on the same plane, probably alot cheaper that way
