Ok I've been a member here for quite awhile. Not as long as some but longer then most and I don't recall ever seeing this thread.

If Money were no object and you had all the tools and know how to do it yourself or could pay anyone to do it for you tell me how you would build your Dream Maverick.....

Here goes mine but of course I would still always have 2.. one to drive daily and then this dream car to take to the track and to car shows.

Starting in the front I would have all the front steering and suspension redone with urethane bushing and top of the line steering and suspension parts. I think I would keep the power steering. OR a Mustang II front supsension would be really nice but not neccesary.
at least front disc brakes, 4 wheel discs whould be extra nice

either a Carbon Fiber Maverick Man Grabber Hood or a flat Maverick hood with a cobra jet hood scoop with the turn signals in the back.

347 Stroker Motor putting out 400- 450 HP

Back that up by a 4 or 5 speed tranny with a nice Hurst shifter

Set of those JC Whitney 4 leaf springs to set the stance in the rear and 1 coil cut out of a set of new front coil springs

Rear End would be a Detroit AIR LOCKER so I could manually lock it in and out. with a set of 3.73:1 or 3.80:1 gears

P245 or 255 60 14's on the rear (drag Radials or DOT slicks) and 215 70's on the front Mounted on the GT Rims I currently have after they are stripped down and chromed

Custom Dual exhaust with cutouts. Straight pipe all the way to the rear of the car capped off with dual old skewl super trapp racing mufflers.

Interior would be a set of custom covered 1988 lowback bucket seat out of a Bronco II or a nicely recovered set of LDO Buckets. and otherwise stock Grabber interior.... WITH A/C...Cant decide on the color because I don't know what color I would want the exterior.

Has to have a kick a$$ stereo system

Could go with a Black exterior with white or silver stripes or ghost flames with the White interior.

Could go with the old favorite stand-by and go with a Blue with black scoop or white or silver stripes... white interior

Classic Bright red with Black stripes and Black and red interior

two other combinations for appearance. Woudl be the Sprint colors with Bucket Seats like Mavaholics or a Red and Black small bumper Stallion style paint scheme with the red and black interior.

and that my friends is the base for my Dream Maverick

How would you build yours?????? :thumbs2::drive:

edited to add.... Almost forgot, a Chin spoiler and a set of rear window louvers, and maybe a Mach 1 type spoiler on the rear deck lid

My dream Maverick would be a 70 hemi cuda 4 spd convertible.(If$$ were no object)
but since were talkin mavericks/comets.M-II front end, rack/pinion steering.Power of course.427 side oiler w dual quads(ala shelby cobra)6 speed tremec, headers of course...3" duals with X pipe.4 link rear suspension with 9" chunk...Mini tub for 12" wide tires on 16" steelies with poverty caps, fronts would be same only 7" wide.Interrior would be factory buckets and pretty much stock other than the instruments and the wood shelby style 3 spoke steering wheel.Body would be stock with a Grabber spoiler and raised center section grabber hood(for carb clearance)Not a scoop or cowl just a massaged grabber hood with more room under it.Body color would be either a lime gold color or a candy copper color of some sort.ghosted grabber stripe down the side and ghost le-mans stripes down the hood/roof/rear deck (ala shelby) I should point out that the wheels would be body color and the interrior would be colored to complement the body.A/C nah... stereo.nah... A lumpy snarling 472 FE would be my music and the speed would be my A/C.I could go on but my wife keeps saying I have to work in the morning so... nite nite...

I'd take my '74 Grabber, put a tube chassis under it with Mustang II front suspension and 4 link rear suspension, obviously plenty of room for beefy wheel and tires, twin turbo Ford GT engine, I think a 5 speed trans would be sufficient, put small bumpers on it, Grabber hood and spoiler, all black high back bucket interior, then repaint the exterior back to it's original color scheme, which was identical to this.

I don't know what wheels I would put on it.

Then, since money is no issue, my dad and I would drive it down to Florida and buy his old Comet back.

Mine would be all stock appearing with a DOHC 4.6 supercharged and a 6 speed. All modern suspension and brakes. And of course nice cold AC! Wide steel wheels with stock hubcaps to complete the ultimate sleeper. As far as color, I would go with a stock color (Grabber blue) and stock interior (blue) with a bench seat. I would try to make it look as stock as possible with all the go fast, stop fast and handling goodies possible.

Well if I was going to build a "money is no object" Maverick:
Start with a Low profile tube racing chassis.
Formula type four wheel independent suspension.
Carbon fiber chopped and sectioned Maverick Grabber body that opens front and rear
    A mid-engine 460 based 550 stroker with a blower
    C6 based Transaxle
30 series tires and 14" wide wheels rated for 250+ mph
Four wheel disk brakes with dual master cylinders on a bias rod
    Goals:
    250+ mph
    1+ Gs on the skidpad
    0 - 100 in under 7 seconds

Probably a '70 Maverick with a 5.4 supercharged Cobra motor. Full modern suspension, a/c and heat. And just daily drive the hell out of it.

    Let's see, first I would need a 427 SOHC. (Like that'll ever happen) :rofl2:
    Then shave the towers.
    Then cheater slicks.
    A tow vehicle.
Some nice paintwork, and the end result would resemble
