I took apart the steering column to remove the column shift and put in a floor shift. Upon putting back the column the ignition will no longer advance far enough to initiate the starter. Im not sure if the flange casting is not pressed on far enough or what. I can manually advance the drive gear that is driven by the lock cylinder and it still will not advance far enough to initiate starting. Any ideas?????

The switches are slotted so you can adjust them a bit. Try loosining the switch and sliding it up a little and see what that does for you.

you might have the key cylinder off one tooth on the gear rack that it engages.

There's a specific procedure for aligning the switch and cylinder. I know it's on here if you do a search.
